Christmas @ the Wade's

Julie and I got a new digital camera for Christmas! Of course we couldn't resist trying it out---immediately---on the manual settings just to prove that we took a photography class together. Dad apparently acted out his dislike of being forced to pose for a photo by smirking instead of smiling.

This new camera is so much cooler and better (and lighter and smaller) than our old cameras that you can expect much more pictures from us.

Julie @ 24 Weeks

Here's Julie today at 24 weeks along. Maybe you can see a little bit more of a difference from last time? Aloise has been very active; she's kicking up a storm, except she almost always quits moving immediately when I put my hand on Julie's belly to feel.

Julie @ 20 weeks

OK. Here's the next installment of the pregnancy chronicles. We took this picture today, which, by our calculations, is precisely 20 weeks and 3 days.


Julie experienced the "quickening" a few weeks ago, and now she's feeling little Aloise moving several times a day. Aloise is most active when Julie is lying down trying to relax! I've only felt her kick once because most of her movements are still too subtle to be felt from the outside.


Julie's appetite is good, and she's taking a nap every day, so her temperament has been good overall. In terms of belly size, she's self-conscious because she's right on the cusp between appearing to have a giant paunch and appearing to be obviously pregnant. Hopefully, it'll only be another few weeks before she really feels like she looks pregnant instead of just fat.

I hope my candor doesn't get me in trouble, but maybe I can encourage heavier traffic on the blog by "juicing it up" a bit. We're really looking forward to some of you other folks out there adding some posts! Julie's family is putting ours to shame because all of them post all of the time on their family blog.

Hi all,

We just wanted to share a few ultrasound photos. The first two are a full body shot and a head and torso shot. The second ones are of her arms and head, and then a 3-D one of her face and little hand. These are better in person and with an interpreter, but you get the idea!

Julie @ 16 weeks

Hi! Julie and I are tracking the progress with photos. She picked this shirt because it's loose enough to wear until month 9, but it does a good job a covering up her belly in the meantime. Trust us; there's one under there.

Luckily, the morning sickness is gone and she's feeling more like herself.

Our Mayo Clinic book says now is when the baby starts doing some major growing!

Crab Leg Craziness!

Tonight our friends Jessica and Bryan came over for dinner. They brought us some huge crab legs! We all felt a little silly and the result was the following pictures! Enjoy!

Dana, John and I watched Diana march in the 4th of July parade. The Bodacious Belles of Beaufort Chapter of the Sweet Potato Queens were the hit of the parade!

Sunday at the Lake

This weekend my grandmother Jo's family had a reunion at Lake Tillery. Justin and I made a day of it. The weather was beautiful and the food was good too! Here is a picture of the lake with the Uwharrie Mountains in the background.
